New Technology News
Our one worry about a new iPad was, where could Apple go? After all, with the iPad 4 it already had a slim, light tablet with a high-resolution screen. All fears that improvements would be few or minor were dissipated the second we picked up the iPad Air.
iPAD AIR BUILD QUALITY
Ditching the numbering system and going for the Air moniker used by the company's super-light laptops really makes sense here, as the iPad Air is staggeringly light. At just 469g (Wi-fi version) it's 183g lighter than the 652g iPad 4. That's a staggering 28 per cent lighter, which is even more impressive given the iPad Air has the same size screen. Trust us, you need to get yourself to an Apple store to hold one in the flesh to see how light it really is.In order to get the weight down, Apple had to make iPad Air smaller and thinner than its predecessor. In simple terms, the Air takes its design cues from the iPad Mini with its thinner bezel and slimmer case. It shouldn't be underestimated how much work this takes, as Apple's managed to make the iPad Air a lot smaller than its predecessor, reducing width from 188mm to 169.5mm (a 10 per cent reduction) and depth rom 9mm to 7.5mm (a 16 per cent reduction), while height remains roughly the same.
The iPad Air is 28 per cent lighter than the iPad 4 and a lot smaller
As we've come to expect from Apple, the iPad Air is made from a single piece of aluminium, with a glass front. Available in Space Grey, and White to match the colours of the iPhone 5S, the iPad Air is the most attractive tablet out there. More than that it also feels extremely tough and durable thanks to its metal construction.
iPAD AIR SCREEN
Although the iPad Air still has the same size 9.Apple has kept the same 2,048x1,536 Retina resolution, originally introduced with the iPad 3. There are some tablets with more resolution, but that doesn't matter. On a screen this size, you don't need more resolution; as Apple states with Retina, it's a resolution at which you can no longer see the individual pixels. As a result everything looks incredibly sharp and detailed.
The screen's the same, but it's one of the best so we're not complaining
As we've come to expect, the screen is also one of the best quality. Thanks to its IPS panel, viewing angles are superb and you can hold the tablet at pretty much any angle and still see what's onscreen clearly. It's bright, too, making it easily usable in pretty much any lighting conditions. Image quality is still incredibly, too. Colours are rich and vibrant, with dark blacks and bright whites. This really helps bring out the quality and detail in any photo.
Main improvements:
-Is a lot thinner
-Images and content on screen looks better
-It is faster
(mainly small tweaks but overall better)

How Technology is changing the film industry:
In 2011, the first film to be entirely shot just on a Smartphone was screened at West Hills Cinema in Los Angeles. The film was filmed solely on a Nokia N8 by Hooman Khalili. This sort of technology we now have is putting the traditional ways of making films behind us. Moreover YouTube, web series and smart phone applications are all viable and lucrative methods of showing out own work to others.
Youtube channels make it easy for film makers to broadcast their work to worldwide audiences. For example, Youtube has played host to numerous exciting social media ventures, including India's 2011 Dirt is Good Flm competition. This project invited young film makers the chance to work with BollyWood professionals to produce their own short films. As well as being aired in more than 400 cinemas across India, the winning pieces also get featured on the competition's Youtube Channel.
Other video sites are also now appearing online such as Atom and Current TV. Many of these sites specialise in different genres (such as comedies and documentaries) and have many dedicated fans. Current TV also boradcasts its top submissions on their UK cable TV channel and pays film makers accordingly.
The burgeoning medium of web TV is also making it possible for film makers to broadcast entire series without relying on hard-to-come-by television deals. Web TV has been growing steadily since its first appearance in 1995. Creators of the first web series The Spot combined their short episodes with character blogs etc for their audience. As broadband speed and availability increased, delivering film content via the internet became more popular for film makers looking for success.
Furthermore in 2011, the UK series 'Persona' was the first 'Smartphone Drama' and allowed viewers to download daily 'appisodes' for smartphones and Ipads. It now has more than 200,000 fans across the world in its third season.
I found this clip interesting as it goes through the different aspects of story telling and how we as an audience sometimes have to work to understand what is going on. Plus the importance of the main characters and how drama is created through anxiety.

'Ted Talks'
How movies teach manhood:
I found this clip very interesting as I didn't realise how many films didn't have females as main characters or as someone other than the hero's love interest. I also thought that the message Colin Stokes was getting across about how the typical story line of a film was almost identical, when it came to the male hero defeating the villain and get his woman as a reward, shocking as it is arguably how all boys are being brought up therefore they may carry out this certain behavior. I agree that there should be more films out there like 'The Wizard Of Oz' which includes female leaders and ways in which characters and people work as a team as this will influence children in a better way and lead them in the right direction. It will also make them see that both genders can work well in a team and manhood doesn't have to be where a male takes on issues in his life alone.

I thought this 'Ted Talks' was interesting as I learnt some vaild points about introverts and how their creaitivity can sometimes be better and more beenficial in the world as some great leaders and creators have had the best ideas.
